ONLY LOVE

Pardon my post today…
I’m in medical mode.
Had some blood tests done recently…
Found out my adrenal glands are fatigued…
Awww
“Stress,” my doc said. “Chronic stress.”
Well duh! I said in my head.
I’ve had stress now for about…hmm, let’s seemy whole life!
So the doc put me on a supplement called Dim.
Love that there’s a supplement or pill for everything.
Love that there’s a test for everything too.
On the drive home…
I got to thinking about all the lab tests there are…
To determine what’s going on inside your body.
And while there are many different tests…
To diagnose the function of the heart…
There’s no test that I know…blood or otherwise…
To determine a broken heart, past or present....
Nor is there a pill, supplement, or elixir to fix it...
And even if there was…
What would it be made of?
Chocolate? Wine? Cheese?
And then I thought, hmm?
If love can break a heart…
Then maybe only love can–
Oh, no!
I’m channeling an old Gene Pitney song.
Help!
I’ve got Chronic Sappy Old Love Song Lyrics on the brain!
I need a pill! A supplement! Or something!
I never even liked Gene Pitney!
If you’re reading this blog…
Then you’ve been on this earth long enough…
To have had your heart broken…
What have you used to fix your broken heart?

Always, Em-Musing
P.S. If you have the stomach for it...click on the link above to hear Gene Pitney

Oh, this was interesting! What to use when mending a broken heart??? I like your idea of chocolate and wine, but truthfully, those are just bandaids. I guess I'd have to say time, family, friends, and an inner confidence that you'll be okay. :)

Just hopped over from Katie's morning blog coffee. I've seen you around the blogosphere a ton. Figured it was time to say 'hi'!!

Chronic stress? Oh, no! You poor thing.
Yes, it is funy that there is a test or pill for so many things. I often think of what treatments must have been like in the 17 or 1800's.

Didn't the Herman's Hermits do that tune as well? Or another of the British Invasion. I can hear an English accent.

Anyway, the only thing to cure a broken heart is time. Or making a call to "Uncle Vido" to have the jerk's legs broken. (Well, it worked for me anyway. lol. kidding, sort of.)

No, seriously, the only way to mend a broken heart is to fall in love again. Well, at least that's what I've been told. After it's broken, it's supposed to grow back bigger, so you can forgive the creep that broke it in the first place. And it always helps if the next guy is So. Much. Better. than the last.
