LOVE MY TENDER

How do I love thee?
Let me count thy assets----
I mean WAYS…yes ways!
In romance novels,
A heroine can fall in love with anyone…
Even a guy who is flat broke…
Because the author can manipulate and tweak...
Reality to a happy ending.
But in real life…
There’s much to consider and many obstacles…
Stepkids, different race, religion or ethnicity…
Handicaps, age difference, addictions…and so on.
Was money on Lady Chatterley’s mind…
When she fell in love with her gamekeeper?
For Bella…
Did the fact that the man she loved…
Had to drink blood…
Stop her from falling for Edward?
So?
Have you ever written a story..
Where the odds were so stacked against the couple..
But you overcame them with the magic of fiction?
What was the obstacle?
Or
Have you ever fallen in love…
And overcame the obstacle?
Please shareI love happy endings!
Me?
I know love conquers all.

Always, Em-Musing

A wise old woman once told me, "It doesn't matter WHO you love, only THAT you love."

I should do a blog post on that.

And yes, to answer your question, I fell in love with a not-so-great man, who, if I had any sanity at all, would not have bothered. The heartache was too much, so no, there was no happy ending.

I think that's why I write romance with a HEA, I still haven't found mine yet.

Loved the Lady Chatterly reference although to be honest, I prefer D.H. Lawrence's poetry to that novel. I read it and found it "underwhelming" but that could be simply because I was a guy.

As for the blood-drinking Edward, I think that one layer deeper is an allegorical tale that is much more controversial. But I won't spew any of my controversial readings onto your blog. It's just how I see things.

Please...spew, Michael. Love other's opinions.

Oh, I love that saying of Anne's! Hm... usually there are many obstacles in my characters' way when it comes to lurve. But yes, they manage to overcome them!

Love definitely conquers all. I used to love writing romance and putting all sorts of obstacles in the way of that happy ever after. Now I'm older and wiser, I have people killing each other off instead. ;)

LOL; mine doesn't have a "happy ending" unless you take my MC ability to walk away from a bad relationship as happy. For her, anyway.

I'm a cynic though . .
