THREE WISE MEN

Phew!
My mind. Is back...
Having taken quite a side trip.
It all started with a rejection letter.
Not so unusual…
I’ve gotten a few since I started the submission process…
And I rolled with them. No biggie.
But the last one was personal…
“I’m afraid these pages do not draw me in as hoped"...
Aw. Really?
I've worked hard...
Trying to make my first few pages page-turners…
And then once again…
Insecurity whispered in my ear.
“See? You’re really not writer. Who do you think you are?”
But before I could refute—Whooosh!
My mind retreated to the Place of Numb…
Safe, non-emotional numb.
The next day…
My body took my mind back to Ohio..
For a visit with family—yay!
And doing taxes—yuck!
Then last week, my body took my mind…
Back to my beloved Akumal, Mexico
Where I attended a week-long Awakening Seminar…
Featuring:
OMG!
My mind eagerly came out of hiding…
Because not only did the words of these men energize me…
But they also gave me perspective and vision...
And now my mind is in a good positive place.
So?
Do you know any of the three men above?
Do you know the Place of Numb?
Or have you learned to bitch slap your insecurity?

Always, Em-Musing

I've never heard for those 3 guys, but I am very good at bitch slapping myself into insecurity. It not so bad anymore!

Don't know the 3-Guys, Do know nub, Try not to 'bitch slap'. Do need something, having a hard time with the revisions. Mind is already on to the next project. 'Oh, look a chicken!'

I try and bitch slap my insecurity. All you have to do is remember that what someone dislikes another person will love. One man's meat is another man's poison and all that. :)

Thanks for this. I've just been going numb lately looking at the daunting task of revision and wondering if I'm even a good writer. Good that you're in a positive place again!! I'm trying to see the positive too.

Your last line made me laugh!
It's not really numb, but I do know how to turn off my brain. I think most men do.

I do know the place of numb. I'm sorry that you got such a personal rejection. It's almost a slap in the face.

Did you feel the earthquake that struck Mexico a few days ago? I heard about it in the news and wondered if things were okay. Glad to see that they are.

I really like the phrasing in this post. Getting rejected sucks...don't make it let you down.
