CHEW ON THIS

As I walked in my jungle yesterday...
Watching a Mayan crew...
Clear some of the vegetation...
I marveled at all the trees…
Specifically the many chicle trees…
That have large “X” marks scarring their trunks…
Evidence of how they were harvested in the late 1800’s
For their sap which was used to make gum…
Hence the brand Chiclets.
(although the Mayans were chewing the sap for centuries)
There were also many other tree species I’ve yet to learn...
Plus many downed trees…
Which sparked my memory for this saying…
“If a tree falls in the forest/jungle…
And no one is there, does it make a noise?”
But a more probing question .
As I doused myself with Off…
If there are no  humans for mosquitoes to suck on
Whose blood do they suck?
Well…
I’m off for a few days…
Heading for the States again.
I’ll be back on the 7th
With my commentary of the A-Z Challenge.

Always,
Em-Musing

Interesting about the tree and the Chiclets and well very funny about the Mayans chewing the Chiclet sap. Very funny about the pesty mosquitoes not that you got bitten, but I think those little buggers could find anyone in an armored suit. Thanks for the laugh today

Try AVON Skin So Soft. It works down here and it works on the bugs in Florida. 'Course mosquitoes don't bite me, but the 'no see'ems' do, without the SSS.

Wow! I always wondered where the name Chiclets came from!

Every day you learn something new is a day you can stave off dementia. Thanks for today's gem.

That's a good question - how do mosquitoes survive without a supply of humans?

Travel safely!
