MY TIME IN PRISON

So there I was…
Back home in the States visiting…
Without the comfort of my big laptop…
When I get a request from an agent.
After tapping into the cloud power of Dropbox…
Where my manuscript, synopsis, and author bio were…
I needed ‘writer eyes’ to give them the once over.
Who? Where? When?
Ah HAH! Of course! My writer buds of MVRWA!
And I knew where to find a few that Saturday morning…
Prison!
I had to break in.
“Um, hi guys I need your mojo.”
Just then the warden’s finger shook in my face.
“Ya know we come to Panera to write, not socialize.”
(Panera is a coffee/bakery shop)
It was Shay, the author of erotica, wagging her finger.
Yikes! What next? Her whip?
“Give her a break,” Connie said. She needs our help.”
And so with the discerning eyes...
Of my fellow MVRWA writers…
All my requested materials were given the thrice over.
And then with hugs, kisses, and wishes of good luck…
They bid me adieu.
“Thanks you guys, I really appreciate it.”
“Next time you’re in town and come to Panera Prison…
We expect you to write! For at least two hours.”
I nodded. Boy, is the warden tough or what?
And what can I say about Panera Prison?
It works!
Since they started it six months ago…
All prisoners have signed with publishers or agents.
So?
Got any prison stories of your own?

Always, Em-Musing

Good track record! I'd stick with that group.

Love the support and the keep-writing-ness they have. Best to you.

Enjoyed reading your story. I like to visit the internet coffee shop close to me 1-2x a week. It's not as fancy as a Panera/prison but there is just something about the smell of fresh coffee and free refills that can free the mind of clutter. Thanks for the laugh

I hope you land an agent. That would make my day and undoubtedly yours too.

I did NOT say that! LOL. I've got my fingers (even the pointy one) crossed you'll hear good news.
