AYE OF THE STORM

OK…
Don’t scold me…
I’d never wish anyone harm…
But yesterday was rather exciting…
Waiting for Hurricane Ernesto.
Seven huge ferries…
Came into the marina here where I stay—Wow!
After unplugging my electronics last night…
I went to bed.
As the winds howled...
I hunkered under the covers and thought…
How strange of me to anticipate this hurricane…
I would never get excited…
Waiting for a tornado to hit or a volcano to erupt.
However, I used to get this same feeling…
Waiting for blizzards back in the States…
I’d stock up, hunker down…and wait.
This morning, the winds are even stronger…
And the sky is still pitch dark.
Amazingly though…
The electricity is still on, and my Internet.
I then tracked Ernesto…
And according to the weather map…
I’m in the eye of the hurricane as I write.
Aye, eye, aye!
Thrilling!
(Barring anyone getting hurt or homeless)
So?
Anyone else as weird as me...
And like a good storm?

Always, Em-Musing

I LOVE a good storm - especially if I can stay tucked in at home and don't have to go out in it. Not so sure I'd get a kick out of being in the middle of a hurricane, but I'll never know for sure until I try some time, will I?

I hate it when hurricanes hit us. I'm always wondering, "Was that the roof?"

living in Maine I feel the same way about either a hurricane, a blizzard, or a good old nor'easter. And of course I don't want anyone hurt but I don't mind if the power goes out (just not too long in the winter!). It's exciting!

I love a good storm, but hurricanes are a whole different animal. May they all pass us by and be grand 'fish storms' (storms that never make landfall).

Oh my gosh, storms scare the beejeebies out of me!

The power usually goes out, so I don't care for them. Oddly, we don't get much violent weather here. We do get a lot of snow ... usually. Not last year though.

I also like storms, although I don't know if I'd deal all that well in a hurricane. Hope everyone comes out all right.

Stay safe!

I'm not a fan of storms or hurricanes :/ Glad to hear no major losses there with Ernesto

Nope. You're in a category of weirdness all to yourself! :)
