WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOWS

Wind…
A proverbial force…
That can be either positive…
As in the wind beneath my wings…
Or negative…
As in the wind is out of my sails.
As I sit here in Mexico
With the Trade winds blowing in my window…
I’m poised at my computer…
Waiting for words to come me…
Words for my W.I.P…
But they’re not there yet.
So I have to ask myself…
Where is my wind?
Recently I suffered a life altering experience…
And with it, came listlessness...
Aimlessness…
Restlessness...
( enough 'lessness' already! )
I need to find direction again…
To charter a new future…
To where I don’t know now…
But I need movement…
I need wind.
Obviously, I cannot control nature’s winds…
Neither the intensity or direction…
But can I manifest my own wind...
Then control the force of my wind...
And the direction it will take me?
Let me ask you…
Have you ever lost your wind?
Did you get it back?
How?

Always, Em-Musing

I have, although not like you did.
I guess I just got annoyed and kicked up my own wind.

I hear you. I've had enough of the "lessness" too. I think it's high time I kick up some wind of my own. I feel it returning.

It starts by thinking and planning. By organizing. By wanting it again. I wrote a list of things that I think I can accomplish TODAY. I'm working on it right now and slowly the momentum returns. Good luck!

I think you you set some goals, gave yourself a target for which to aim, it might bring back the wind.

Yes'um I have. Then had to deal with the reluctance of stirring anything up. Which is a good indication of burnout or exhaustion. I'm working on that too.

Sometimes I'll just sit and write whatever comes to mind, like taking snapshots of what's around me.

Make sure you give yourself time. That's important. After that, what about starting something new? Instead of the old WIP, set it aside (for now) and begin something else. Maybe even something you never saw yourself writing. Use those trade winds and raw emotions to sail different waters.

I've had to kick up my own wind lately to get any writing done.

I eat a lot of beans and create my own wind!

But seriously, the passion will move you when you are ready again. No need to worry about jump-starting it. :)
