THE SKINNY ON THE DIP

I have a confession…
But before I tell you what I did on Sunday…
You have to understand…
It wasn’t like I planned it…
I’m normally very reserved…
But do it, I did.
‘It’ being…
Skinny dipping.
I couldn’t help it…
You see I was swimming in my pool…
By myself…
When I realized my new bathing suit was bunched…
In a place it shouldn’t be bunched.
It was driving me crazy…
And I was too lazy to get out and go inside the house...
So I attempted to adjust the bathing suit in the pool.
But anyone trying to wrangle a wet bathing suit knows…
The bathing suit always wins.
So…
Glancing around…
Praying no one would drive up unannounced…
And reminding myself…
My nearest neighbor was over a quarter mile away…
Tucked amid the thick jungle..
I…
Wriggled out of my new suit and…
Ah!
Freedom!
At first it felt weird and I was timid…
I just stood still in the cool water.
But then freedom…
Like the tossed bathing suit, won...
And I swam for over a half hour.
So tell me...
Ever skinny dip?
Or ever do anything else...
That felt like freedom?

Always, Em-Musing

Leigh--I HAVE skinnydipped several times (sadly, decades ago) and it was delightful.

Also a freeing experience--skydiving, which I've done three times (all tandem jumps). There is nothing more free than looking up and looking down and seeing sky surrounding you.

I'm glad you didn't let your swimsuit stay "in a wad." ;)

Love the way you've described your experience! Sounds like such an adventure. And yes, me too. I have SDed....

I've never had the opportunity. Not sure I'd be able to let it all hang out though.

This sounds wonderful. Bravo to you for eschewing the societal pressure put on us by others and embracing your natural self.

I've skinny dipped before! Both in a pool and in a river. It's very liberating.

I actually went to a small resort once that not only let you do it, but was required. I was rather nervous going the first time so went in a border-line winter-spring time so there wouldn't be many people.

Turns out I only saw one other person the rest of the day, and while it was warm enough to be outside, the water was much colder.

Which was ironic as the pool was the reason I came. They at least had a hot tub though.
