I left something back in the states…
That I never wanted to encounter again…
And it’s one of the reasons…
I escaped here to the blue sky and salt air…
Of the Caribbean.
I thought I’d run far enough away…
But then yesterday…
It found me…
‘It’ being Pressure.
Oh, not pressure like an impending deadline…
But pressure like in atmospheric…
When low pressure causes the barometer to fall…
Like what happens during storms and hurricanes.
Back in Ohio where I used to live…
I was subjected to the Lake Erie Effect…
Low air pressure would hover for days…
And headaches played a major role in my life.
So far while living here I’ve been headache free.
But Tropical Storm Ernesto is heading this way…
And it could turn into a hurricane.
Thankfully, it will skim past where I live…
But yesterday the air pressure already started lowering.
My brain can't calculate barometric reading...
But my sinuses can...
They can go from 'oy' to 'OW' in mere minutes.
Yesterday was an 'OW' day...
And I was down for the count.
Thankfully, this morning the rains have come...
And my headache is gone.
Did the air pressure change?
Is my head acclimating?
Or is all the Aleve finally working?
Not sure...
But so far it's an “AH” day.
So?
Anyone else's head a human barometer?
What do you do to ease the pressure?

Yes! My head hurts whenever the pressure changes, and with our thunderstorms and hurricanes, that is often. I usually just live with it...
I know what you mean, years ago, I got such bad sinus headaches that my teeth would hurt. Nothing helped, medicine wise. I have worked on alleviating allergies though and I haven't had any since. But I feel for you.
Eeep...you moved into hurricane country. That would make me nervous. I hope all goes well for you. With global "man made" climate change, I think we are in for some super storms in the future.
I have the sinus thing, too, so I feel for you. I hope Ernesto leaves you alone. Stay safe.
I grew up on Lake Erie, too, but in WNY. The weather is wild around here. The dryer climate took some adjusting ... I had to learn to moisturize inside.
I used to have a job where all the women were human barometers. After a few years I was a barometer too. I hated it. I'm so glad I work someplace else now.
I can tell when a storm is coming. Hate those kinds of headaches b/c nothing helps until the low pressure passes or it rains. Hope Ernesto stays away.
