Ah…
A new year…
And for me…
A little reverse concept…
It’s, out with the new...
And in with the old…
Face creams that is.
(don’t laugh)
Each year, my New Year’s Resolution is…
Each year, my New Year’s Resolution is…
To
finish all jars of face cream…
Before I buy another.
(I said don’t laugh)
You see, I buy so many creams…
Before I buy another.
(I said don’t laugh)
You see, I buy so many creams…
I
could stock a warehouse.
Not only have I bought all these creams…
But I also bought the hype—Youth in a Bottle!
After looking at all the jars and tubes…
My brain scrambles…
Trying not to calculate how much I spent on them.
And then…
A thought popped up…
Like a middle-aged pimple…
What if I combined all the creams?
Would it create the ubberist cream of all?
Or would each cancel the other out?
I figured at least I should try before I pitch them…
You see, as a writer...
I’m on a mission to stay looking good…
For when I become a published author.
(I said don’t laugh)
But then...
I can’t be the only writer worried about image…
What about you?
Do you have an image of you as an author…
That you maintain?
What is it?
Not only have I bought all these creams…
But I also bought the hype—Youth in a Bottle!
After looking at all the jars and tubes…
My brain scrambles…
Trying not to calculate how much I spent on them.

I have an image and fortunately it has nothing to do with looks! (Although other than grey hair, I think I'd be all right.)
Combine those creams - why not?
I have a lot of creams too. But the one I've stuck with for the last 10 years is Johnson's Baby Lotion. It works just as well, if not better, than anything else I've spent lots of money on, smells nice, and is good enough for a baby's butt, so it's good enough for my face.
Ha, no image here for professional purposes. And that is likely a "thank goodness."
my mom has a stockpile of lotions from bath and body works. She has half their inventory.
Ubberist of creams. That made me laugh. Aging has never been a big deal for me, and I write for kids, who don't seem to care what you look like as long as the story's a good one. :-)
That reminds me....I need to buy a pipe! :)
OMGosh I am so guilty of this too. There has to be a support group for us! I am getting much better, but it seemed every time I saw a commercial for a new face cream, I had to try it.
You've been peeking in my bathroom again, haven't you? Maybe I should combine them all. Let us know how that turns out. Maybe I should have been like Anne and stuck with Baby Lotion :)
I no longer have an image of me as an author. Anymore, I'm just thankful for getting a good review.
Ha, the humidity of the tropics did wonders for my skin, I wonder if it's working on my writing.
