Have you ever slipped any of your personal information into your characters, either by accident or on purpose?

Uh, yup **blush, blush**
In fact I wrote a whole 3-book series
In the Humorous Women’s Fiction genre...
(not yet published at the moment)
About a time in my life...
(not that long ago)
When I was single for the first time in my life...
And imagined dating again...
And I gotta tell ya...
Some parts of the story were so personal...
I changed my author name...
To protect my daughters' eyes from burning in their sockets...
In case they ever read it...
Ya see...
It’s not that I did anything criminal in the story...
It’s that the story includes many, eh hem...
Fantasies.
OK!
I fess up!
Sexual fantasies!
That no daughter—or any relative for that matter...
Need ever know about me.
"Say whaaaat?!?!" I hear you exclaim.
But wait!
Before you think weird of me...
It’s was only for research...
Yup, uh huh, research. I swear!
Because all good writers research.A lot!
Well...that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Ha! Understandable. I think I'd try to throw in enough untrue stuff that I could claim that wasn't either...
LOL! I wouldn't want to read a book like that by my mother.
How could we not include some of our own person into our stories, but sexual fantasies, whoa..yeah i would want my daughters to read that about me either.
Well, now that you mention it...Actually, I'm writing a steamy romance at the moment. It's all fictional, of course, but my daughter may or may not feel comfortable reading those scenes. We'll see.

I have to admit that I do a lot of research for my stories because my stories cross genres. I don't have children but I can believe that some children would be upset if their writer mother or writer father had steamy scenes in their books.

Research! Of course. I have a hard time imagining any of my family reading my stuff and I haven't included anything like that...
Lol, yeah that could get interesting when people you know read your work, but hey if it is good writing I wouldn't begrudge my mom too much.

Ha ha! It's funny, all the research we do -- and regular readers may not notice these things, but friends and family do start giving us a speculative eye, don't they? :-)
Hehehehe nope not like that. I have sex scenes in my stories, but the characters clearly aren't me, so I'm okay with using my own name. ;-)
