March 4 question – Other than the obvious holiday traditions, have you ever included any personal or family traditions/customs in your stories?
Now that you’re asking...
I, and the women in my family...
DO have a tradition...
Cigar smoking!
Every time some or all of us get together...
We’ll break out the cigars and have a smoke.
And...
In one of my novels I used this tradition in a scene...
With my protagonist and her sisters and cousins...

Getting together and smoking cigars.
Now back to me and my cigar tradition...

But eventually they came around.
And next year...
When my oldest granddaughter turns 18...
It’ll be her turn to light up and take a
puff.

While on a trip to Cuba a few years back, I met a woman on the street enjoying her cigar.

Its nice that you could include your cigar smoking tradition in your book.
That's quite a tradition. When I was in Cuba I bought cigars, but not for myself. I was told they were the best my friend had ever had. I'll have to take his word for it because I smoke nothing.
I love this tradition and how you were able to incorporate it into one of your stories. My husband is Cuban and has never smoked a cigar in his life until my dad got him to about 7 years ago.
I have a friend named Rose and every time she'd head south to Mexico, she'd bring back Cuban cigars for her and her husband to smoke.
That's a cool tradition! I've never tried a cigar but my husband has.

I never smoked in my life, not once. But I know that for some people, smoking in a group is a form of bonding, of building connections.
Vampires is not at all like in the movies or books. Sure, I understand. You are young you have the whole world open to you. You can be anything that you choose if you apply yourself and try hard to work toward that goal. But being a Vampire is not what it seems like. It’s a life full of good, and amazing things. We are as human as you are.. It’s not what you are that counts, But how you choose to be. Do you want a life full of interesting things? Do you want to have power and influence over others? To be charming and desirable? To have wealth, health, and longevity, I can help you solve any problem you are having

That is an amazing tradition! I've never smoked a cigar, but my husband liked them in his youth (before he gave up smoking). And I used to work in an office where three men all smoked cigars and stubbed them out in an ashtray near my desk. They stubs smelled revolting! They are so strong, I'm suprised you don't all end up coughing.
Cool, cigars! I do think it's cool once in a while, but I'm never brave enough to try it!
