It’s the Monthly Blog Hop for the Insecure Writers Support Group founded by Alex J. Cavanaugh.
The first Wednesday of every month, an optional question is announced that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience, or even a story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!
The awesome co-hosts for the September 3 posting of the IWSG are Kim Lajevardi, Natalie Aguirre, Nancy Gideon, and Diedre Knight!
September 3 question - What are your thoughts on using AI, such as GPChat, Raptor, and others with your writing? Would you use it for research, story bible, or creating outlines\beats?
AI is here to stay (obviously)
Have I used it?
Sure...
For editing in Grammarly...
And I thought when I did a Google Search I was using AI...
Turns out:
Google is not AI; it's a company that uses artificial intelligence extensively
Okay, that’s nice to know...
But who cares if it’s not AI per se...
I’ll still use it for researching....
BUT...
Then I found this gem...
Gemini — Goggle's AI assistant **
Where you experience the power of generative AI and get help with writing, planning, brainstorming, and more.
You’re probably saying: Leigh…is your head so deep into your writing that you’re not paying attention to all the newest of the new in AI?
Obviously so.
But getting back to me and writing using AI...
I would never use it for my creative writing...
My brain’s thoughts are all I need, thank you very much...
BUT...
Using AI for brainstorming and planning?
Hmm? I'm gonna check it out.
BUT...
AI can never replace being with writer friends, or other friends...
Sipping a cup o'Joe or a glass of wine...
And storming our brains together.
What about you?
How deep into AI are you?
And who do you brainstorm with?
Always,
Em-Musing
