I don’t know about you
But being a writer, I’m always in editing mode
And not only for what I'm writing or reading
But also when I’m watching TV or a movie, or a series.
I don’t want to see things that break my reality
But then I see actresses wearing modern-day eye make-up
Or have dark roots showing in their dyed hair
Or nail polish...
Yes, okay....it’s clear nail polish, but still
Or their boobs have implants
Or teeth that are so white I have to put on sunglasses
OK, yes, back then the average person might have had white teeth but definitely not DayGlow white or straight like piano keys teeth..
And especially a lot of the elite in Europe didn't have white teeth.
Take Queen Elizabeth I for example
She was known to have gray/black teeth
Due to indulging in too much sugar.
And believe it or not
That was a status symbol for the wealthy back then.
EUUWW!!
I never delve deeper than what my eyes can detect while watching something
Because I know there could be a lot of discrepancies in every movie, etc.
So, as long as my viewing pleasure isn't interrupted...I'm okay.
And?
What about you?
Is your “editor” mode always on?
What breaks your reality?
Or bugs you?
Always,
Em-musing
P.S. Confession: I often fact-check many details in movies, etc....but only afterward I've enjoyed the show.
