POSITIVELY PITCHING

While visiting someone near to me…
In the nursing home yesterday…
I watched a Law & Order rerun.
The episode was about a killer…
Who murdered women for revenge…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
NOT that I think murdering women is funny…
But his reason was…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
Ya see, he was a wannabe author…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
Who wrote 27 manuscripts…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
And kept…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
All of his rejection letters…
Ha, ha, ha, ha
Tacked up in his apartment like wallpaper.
Ha, ha, ha, ha
Well, of course there were other psychological reasons
why he murdered…
But it made me think–again–of the rejection letters I’ve gotten.
I used to keep them…
But now
Unless there’s a positive comment…
I throw the buggers out…
Because keeping them…
Only reinforces the negativity I felt when I first got it.
Somewhere along the way of throwing out rejection letters
I remembered a song my mom used to sing.
Here's a link to that song sung by Bing Crosby.
How about you?
If you keep your rejection letters…
Do they keep affecting you?
And how?

Always, Em-Musing

I totally get it. Hahahaha Does that make me evil? I've hidden my rejections in a folder. I

Hahahahaha!!! That's freakin' hilarious!

I do keep the email rejection letters (but they are tucked away in a folder that I can't "see" unless I want to). I only keep them in case I some loose/delete/misplace my master list of agents I've queried (wouldn't want to query and get rejected twice!)
