I've never heard of this holiday or tradition before...
But I guess besides being celebrated here in Mexico...
It's celebrated in many other countries as well.
This is an extension of the Christmas holiday...
And recognizes when three kings visited the baby Jesus and brought gifts.
So today, kids will get lots of gifts.
Also, a cake, similar in concept to a "king" cake for Mardi Gras...
Is eaten that has a plastic baby Jesus in it.

So?
Have you ever heard of or celebrated...
Three Kings Day?

Always, Em-musing

Nope, but I know that this is in fact Twelfth Night. It's supposedly tradition to take down all your Christmas decorations today, since it's the last day of Christmas. :-)

Yep, we celebrate it here in the Caribbean.Of course Rick says we celebrate peanut butter and jelly day. Cruzans love a Holiday. Kids here haven't gone back to school yet. We are still on Christmas Holiday. And today starts Carnivale. Big parade tomorrow. Look for pictures next week.

Nope, never heard of it before. But I’d be happy to have more presents if anyone’s interested? There are a few things Santa didn’t get me (and I’ve been so good all year). Hang on I’ll go and get my list . . .

I've always herd of it as Little Christmas, the day the three kings gave presents to the baby Jesus. I never heard of it until I moved to the Phila area. Many people say that don't take the trees and decorations down until Little Christmas. Or some people call it the epiphany. I take my tree and all the decorations down the day after Christmas :))

Oh my gosh! I haven’t heard of this since I was a little girl! And I never really understood what it was about, I just knew that our nanny (who was Venezuelan) baked a cake with a baby Jesus and you REALLY wanted the piece with Him in it. Wow, thanks for the random memory jog!

My fiancee's family celebrates it in Spain too. Makes the whole gift-giving thing make more sense, I guess. Sounds like a good time. Unless some wiseass brings myrrh.
