some have wondered where I’ve been…
Perhaps some not…
No
matter…
I
need to explain my absence…
And
why it may take me awhile…
To
get back in the swing of things.
As you
already know…
My
blog is mostly the lighter side of life…
But light
is not my heart right now.
A
few weeks ago…
The
love of my life died…
Due
to complications from diabetes.
He
was the sweetest man I ever met.
And
I never thought I would find love again…
At
this stage of my life.
Several years ago...
I wrote a novel about our unlikely romance...
As he was twenty-three years younger.
A year ago…
We moved to Akumal, Mexico
Also a writer’s retreat.
And three mont
Today?
I
struggle with the details of what happened.
I manage to go through all the motions…
And
emotions of getting through the days…
But I
worry about my muse.
I
thought after all the details of the funeral…
Which
was in his hometown two hours away by plane…
And
after my family and friends went back to the States…
That
my muse would come out of hiding…
Not
yet. My writing is not there.
Well, not entirely true…
I’ve written several pages venting my anger.
I’m
strong though. My faith is strong...
I
know that death is a part of life…
And
tomorrow is promised to no one...
But
for now…
I and my muse...
I think we'll just float for awhile.

I'm so sorry for your loss. And I know those words sometimes don't cut it. When those we love are gone, there are no words deep enough to express our sorrow. Know that we're all here for you. And will continue to be for as long as God allows.
Sorry to hear of this, Em. Diabetes is something I can relate to since my wife and I both have it. Losing a partner has to be very difficult, but I know you'll manage okay.

oh Em.... endings are so sad. anger is a necessary part of digesting sudden grief. it's a major shock to the system. it's been 10 years for me since my son died and I still get stuck in the house where I found him. sometimes, I'm there for days. he's not gone, he's just not here. i know thats not enough - not now but it's so comforting to know. it's how i get unstuck. its how i continue to dance.
