IN A DARK LAPTOP CRYING

In a remote forgotten place
Somewhere in the ether of software and hardware
Sat a manuscript
Written over ten years ago
Feeling Lonely, unappreciated
Until a few months ago
When it sent out an S.O.S.
“Hey you! Yeah you at the computer!
I’m buried under all these files and photos!
Get me out of here!
Get me edited!
Get me published!
Give me life!
OK, OK, OK, OK!
I will!
And I am
In that order.
So while I’ve been absent from this blog
I’m busy setting up social media stuff
For my other author name:
Lee Karen Baldwin
Because this name writes
Dark fantasy, horror, and all things supernatural.
Oh, I’m still writing humorous women’s fiction
And occasionally on my blog, Em-Musing
But for now
I gotta go with this flow
And that means querying again.
Waaaaaaaaa! Waaaaaaaa! Waaaaaaaa!
And you know what that means
INSECURITY SETTING IN BIG TIME
Oh, I know the manuscript is good
Great, actually I was told
But you and I both know the odds
Of snaring an agent or publisher.
But I’m fierce and focused
I will get this manuscript published
One way or another.
And you?
Does the querying process
Make you insecure?

Always,
Em-Musing

Dark fantasy! Sounds cool. Keep polishing that old manuscript. Sometimes they turn into something really awesome...

Even after many published books, querying the next one makes me very nervous.

Fortunately, I'm on the other side of that query process. Although some days I don't feel like that's a good thing.

I have one of those old stories. I was hoping it would need editing, but it needs a total rewrite. Hopefully we can both get it done.
