hate watching movies or TV shows…
When
the make-believe world I’m watching…
Has snaggy details that make me go, hmm?
Like
the new episode of Game of Thrones,
for instance.
Lots
of nudity in that one…
But it
wasn’t the lack of clothing that perturbed me…
It
was the clothing in general…
Specifically
(and
maybe I nodded off here and didn’t catch why)…
When
Tyrion Lannister marries Sansa Stark …..
Why
wasn’t she wearing a wedding dress?
Why
was everyone wearing the same clothes…
That
they wore in the last three episodes?
Why
was Cersei Lannister, the king’s mother…
In
her everyday dress?
Why
do some look like they’re dressed for winter…
And
other’s for summer?
And King
Joffrey’s fiancé...
Why was still in that same old blue frock?
Perhaps
the wardrobe budget had been cut…
Hence
all the scantily clad women.
(Can we say hooray for lots of bootay!)
And so
here’s a note to the director:
It’s
only fair if you show ladies naked…
That
you show the same amount of manly flesh…
And
I’m not talking naked chests and arms…
(Can we say yay for some manly bootay!)
What
say you?
Do you find details like these...
As irritating as wool?

And while I don't want naked guys, I guess it would be fair.
Interesting thoughts. I don't have TV, but I find the same thing in movies sometimes. Wardrobe and make-up seem to be on strike. It is distracting.
AHA! I have (half helpful) answers! As a book reader, in the BOOK the wedding betweeen Sansa and Tyrios was quite hasty--no time to prepare anything. Sansa had a special dress, but she DID---they don't do wedding dresses--their big deal for weddings is the exchange of cloaks. When Sansa married Tyrion in the book, she had no idea where she was going until she got there--she showed up and SURPRISE, your wedding... (she'd thought the dressmaking process was for her gown to attend Joffrey's wedding until she was directed to put in on a few weeks early)
BUT, your point of some dressed for winter, some for summer is totally a valid one.
(as I recall, it was really only Lannisters in attendance at the wedding--not the TV show version with a bunch)... and Cersei's opinion of Tyrion? No need to dress up for THAT. The only purpose in that marriage is to keep the north in Lannister clutches.
I'd have to see the show to give a proper take on the issue
I wonder if I'd notice these things. I'm usually engrossed in the story so much that I miss important details like the ones you're mentioning. Hope you're having a lovely day.
I don't watch regular TV much anymore. I'm too in love with Netflix lol
I don't watch that show, so I don't know. But I agree there should be no double standard for nudity between male and female.

George R.R. Martin is a very sexist man. If you read any of his books, women are always getting slapped, screwed, and naked. He throws a bone every once in a while by featuring a naked man. Make no mistake though...George's world is a man's world.
