Ya know what I love about humidity?
There are no expectations.
Down
here in the tropics…
Humidity
is a constant…
And no one here expects you to look perfect.
Like hair.
As any woman knows…
Like hair.
As any woman knows…
Humidity
is not a woman's best friend.
So now I just let humidity arrange my do...
Or just
pony tail it up.
And make
up? What make-up?
Humidity = sweating = every trace of make-up...
Slides off a face...
Slides off a face...
So I've since let my face go au
naturale.
And speaking
of au naturale…
It’s
my preferred sleeping mode now…
Who needs sweat-causing fabric...
In the middle of the night?
In the daytime...
I’ve also learned to be as undressed as possible…
In the middle of the night?
In the daytime...
I’ve also learned to be as undressed as possible…
While
still being fully clothed.
I
used the think the chicas down here…
Were being
provocative in how they dressed…
Now I know better...
It's called survival…
It's called survival…
Wear
as little fabric as possible…
To expose
as much skin to the air as you can.
It’s
all good though…
Today…
When
I opened up the sliders…
The early
morning air was cool and fresh…
The palm trees were bowing heavy...
From the evening’s tropical downpour...
From the evening’s tropical downpour...
And that's when I
heard...
The call of the motmot…
The call of the motmot…
That elusive exotic bird that makes it’s nest in cenotes…
And cenotes if you don't know...
Are deep natural aquafers...
Caused by limestone erosion...
Which in turn cause freshwater cave systems...With most of them vast enough...
To swim or dive in.
So while the cenotes on my property...
Are not yet open, there are caves...
And deep down...
There is a vast water system that goes on for miles.
And here where I live in the Mexican Caribbean...
Is one the only places on earth where there are cenotes.
So?
Have you ever been to a cenote?Or would you like to swim in one?
Always, Em-Musing

I think it would be cool to swim in one. Still not fond of humidity. Ready for fall and its absence.
I'd swim there.
When it's humid, my hair has a life of its own.
Wow! That is cool (literally!)
When I went to Puerto Rico I pretty much gave up on my hair and makeup too. LOL
Lovely! I had a little escape via your blog post today. Thank you!
I have swam in X-caret and swam to an ocean lagoon in a beautiful underground river. So romantic and lovely. I'll never forget it. Love this post with gorgeous photos.
It's humid around here, I can't wait for autumn.
Color me totally jealous. Those cenotes are beautiful. As well as the mot mots.
As for wearing clothes. Yeah, I'm the same way. hate them. Living on a beach for almost my whole life, it's a way of life I can't let go of. Whether it's humid or not.
