Legs of lizard…
Heads of birds…
Dragonfly wings…
Frog bodies incurred
Concoction for a spell?
No…
Body parts I see daily…
In my house...
Thanks to my cat, Ind ie.
Of course I knew when I moved into the jungle…
There’d be animals and critters galore..
But silly me for thinking they would all be outside.
And speaking of outside…
No more letting my cat wander around at night.
A mother jaguar and two cubs have been spotted…
And…
DUN, DUN, DUUUUN….
At the last sighting…
The mommy jaguar had the neighbor’s dog in its mouth.
But the good news?
Humans are not on a juguar’s menu.
And for the next animal story…
The other night...
I woke up with a start...
To the pungent stench of a skunk...
The stink was so strong…
I wasn't sure if the dark mass lying next to me...
Was my cat, Indie or the damn skunk.
The good news?
My cat didn’t stink…
So the skunk had sprayed another predator…
Maybe the juguar?
But wait....
That would mean that the jaguar...
Was right outside my window!
EEEEKKKK!!!!
So tell me…
How wild is the life where you live?
Always, Em-Musing

Yeah, I would keep Indie inside for a while! We get the usual snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, and bugs around here.
Oh my goodness! I'd be hanging out at the window with a camera, watching for the jaguars.
I'm glad my dog is safe here in the city
All we have around here are rabbits, which just sit there chewing the grass looking somewhat cute. In terms of "pests," they're pretty tolerable.
I live against a mountain in the Western Cape, South Africa. So we have baboons, snakes and leopards (although I haven't seen leopards in my street yet).
Things aren't as wild where I live. At least not in the sense you describe. We've got lots of traffic, a guy who often walks by in the morning rapping very loud, and the homeless people with shopping carts--some of them with 6 or more carts in tow looking like one of the old wagons trains of the pioneers. Life in the city.

A Faraway View
NOW, I live in a bear habitat. Trash cans are locked down and a month ago a garage door a few houses down was badly damaged when a bear tried to break in (you should have seen the claw marks, YIKES). Last week on the news, I heard about a bear breaking into a house in my village. Scary part is, it was 8 AM and the folks were at home. BUT, at least there are no centipedes here.
We get lizards inside, but that's the extent of the wildlife that wanders inside.
Hope they get that jaguar soon.
