PULP FICTION
late 1800’s – mid 1950’s
Howard Phillips Lovecraft 1890 –1937) was an American author who achieved posthumous
fame through his influential works of horror fiction.
During his life he was virtually
unknown and was only published in Pulp Magazines such as Weird Tales.
Never able to support himself
from earnings as author and editor, Lovecraft saw commercial success
increasingly elude him in this latter period, partly because he lacked the
confidence and drive to promote himself. He subsisted in progressively
straitened circumstances in his last years; an inheritance was completely spent
by the time he died at the age of 46.
Lovecraft is now regarded as one of the most significant 20th-century authors in his genre—horror.
The Cthulhu Mythos is a shared
fictional universe based on the work of Lovecraft. Authors of Lovecraftian horror use the
elements of Mythos in an ongoing expansion of the fictional universe.

Shame he never found success while he was alive. He's one of the horror masters.
Wow, I wonder what he would have gone on to do if he hadn't died so young. What a shame.
He was so talented! This happens a lot to creative types-so, sad~
That last cover might of been during her time of the month
certainly gross.
As a young adult, I went through a phase of loving horror...mostly movies...but now, I don't like horror at all. I guess there's just too much horror in real life.
